BookClub Thunderdome

So, what's the first rule of bookclub? You don't talk about bookclub! In this segment, the girls duke it out over what book should be read for bookclub. They each have brought a list:
  • Sandy:
    • The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern,
    • Shades of Milk and Honey, by Mary R. Kowal,
    • Old Man’s War by John Scalzi
  • España:
    • Shades of Milk and Honey, by Mary R. Kowal,
    • Mr Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan,
    • 2312 Kim Stanley Robinson
  • Jade:
    • The B-Team (John Scalzi),
    • Dodger (Terry Pratchet),
    • The Native Star ( MK Hobson)
And the winner? A completely different book! Throne of the Crescent Moon (Crescent Moon Kingdoms) (To hear why...you'll just have to listen)

The girls decided to put these in some sort of order, instead of limiting it to just one book, and reading the ones that had the most interest:
  1. Throne of the Crescent Moon
  2. Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore: A Novel
  3. Dodger
  4. The Native Star
In addition, España & Sandy will be reading and doing a review for the podzine of Shades of Milk and Honey

Superman

After the dust had settled about books, the girls talk about the upcoming Superman series, with one particular author in mind....Orson Scott Card.

  • Jade is working on a fair isle mittens for someone's birthday, and ran into all sorts of trouble, requiring her to reknit the 2nd mitten.
